Dithering, he waited for his heart attack
Which couldn't be imagined simply because
Who the hell wants to think about that?
A lightning strike of severe pain to the chest
Reeling back with sudden death occurring
So there's the same thought avoidance apparent
But he still couldn't get the idea out of his mind
Because of-this could be it-his big break finally!
First it was a complete novel, but that's too hard
He'd already written a failed novel over 3 years
What cis het man would write a novel these days?
(And a working-class man of all the absurd ideas)
So then the thinking was it would be a transcript
Of some fictional but real-life talk radio interview
On a very populist right-wing Sydney radio station
Written in the familiar old blokey matey style
Anyway, it was about this chap's startling discovery
That Jesus and the disciples were all paedophiles
The whole god messiah thing was just a coverup
Really it was all about procurement and grooming
This idea could never fail to attract attention he felt
But, also, what about his social anxiety condition?
Being the centre of attention would be unbearable
Being attacked and made out to be the bad guy
He wouldn't be able to defend himself like Hitchens
He wasn't the type to have a thick skin, not at all-
Had the shit bashed out of him by bullies at school
Fear stalking his daily existence at every moment
Constantly analysing his every word and action
But trolling is the only way for a man to be noticed
In the end, the 'great idea' had to be discarded
Aside from one worthless poem which referenced it
In amongst a wider discussion about anxiety and trolls
Luckily, no-one reads poetry anymore these days
Even highly controversial blasphemous examples
So, his fragile sense of peace and calm was safe for now
He was free to obscurely continue his emotional decline
From thoughts of going directly to the fiery caves in hell
