Acknowledgement Of Invasion

I'd like to acknowledge the Gadigal people
of the Eora nation,

That they have the right to remain silent.
Anything they say can be used against them in court,

Because they shall not grow old as we who
are left grow old,

But beneath our radiant Southern Cross
we'll toil with hearts and hands,

To forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us,

And decide who comes to this country
and the circumstances in which they come,

Because in reckoning the numbers of
people of the Commonwealth, or of a
state, Aboriginal natives shall not be counted,

But well may we sing 'God save the
King', because nothing will save

The traditional custodians of the land on
which we gather and their Elders past
present and emerging,

So let us all rejoice this day our daily
bread, for we are young & free,

To have a lawyer with us during
questioning. If we cannot afford a
lawyer one will be appointed,

To send him victorious happy and
glorious, long to reign over us,

And pay our respects, as terms and
conditions apply, forever and ever, Amen.
