Google Maps Sometimes I zoom on some Russian island Or an unknown city on a lonely isthmus And wonder if I'd find peace there As I age it's the more remote places That draw my consideration Checking for libraries and stadiums Railway lines and stations Sometimes an interesting feature Like that Turkish writing on the hill Dur Yolcu! somewhere near Gallipoli Then after spending an hour dreaming I slump back into my chair and give up There's nowhere to escape to These memories will always remain Best to just stay here in Sydney Where the whole mess began It's not such a bad place to die
